Russian Vintage Cartoon

A friend of mine recently drew my attention to a Russian vintage cartoon.  Somehow, I, a grown man, have sat watching this antiquated animation multiple times.  And since my friend has now gone to the trouble of putting English subtitles to this video that hails from years of yore when cinematography was referred to as motion pictures, I feel it is only right to pass along this masterpiece to you, my faithful reader.

Here it goes.  "Oh, if only dreams came true!":

The Ecclesiastical Preacher clearly taught that we should not ask, "Why were the old days better than these?".

For it is not wise to ask such questions.

But in this age of Sponge Bob Square Pants and family Yuletide gatherings being centered around iPods and Playstations, it is difficult not to ask were not the old days of Russian cartoons and even the older days of young ladies dreaming of wooden floors and Russian fireplaces, better than these days of busy technology?

But I digress, and write run-on sentences.

Which character's dream do you most identify with in this video?  How many times did you watch this enchanting cartoon?  Comment below...

Well, I have watched this cartoon a million times, I think. It's one of the best animation works from my childhood and will always remain a classic.
Vintage? LOL, it's from 1979, does that make it ancient? ;-) What would you call Disney's Snow White then? :-P
